Anthony N. Galanos is the Medical Director of Palliative Care Service, Duke University. He started out in geriatrics and over time moved into palliative care. His original research was on the functional status of community dwelling elderly. With time, he focused his research on the hospital setting, specifically with regard to end of life care. His hope is to make the hospital a more user friendly setting for folks with life-limiting illness.
