Understanding Wishes: The importance of talking early and often!

This week’s video blog features an interview with Catherine Sevier, PhD, RN, AOCN and North Carolina State President of AARP. Catherine discusses the AARP website, www.aarp.org , which is chock a block full of valuable information and resources for people, young and old. Spoiler alert – anyone can join AARP! I bet you did not know that! AARP does focus on people over age 50 as many of their initiatives are tied to legislative initiatives in DC; however, there are many other services they offer to people, one group in particular being caregivers.

This video will educate you about how you can take the fear out of having conversations with your loved ones about your health care wishes, serious illness and dealing with an end of life situation. She also explains her “regret” question – a fabulous idea!!!!
